Corporations and Shareholder Democracy

This workshop will investigate the role and rights of investors in the United Kingdom and the United States, with a particular focus on impediments to investor participation in the securities markets and the ability of investors to exercise their associated voting rights.

Jill Fisch will present a paper entitled Corporate Political Disclosure and Shareholder Voting.

Christina Sautter will present a draft paper co-authored with Sergio Alberto Gramitto Ricci and Daniel JH Greenwood entitled ‘The Shareholder Democracy Lie’.

Eva Micheler and Elena Zaccaria will present a paper entitled ‘Digitising the UK Securities Market, The Case Against and a Proposal to Enfranchise Indirect Investors’, Cambridge Law Journal (forthcoming)
