Speaker: Patrick Mears, OBE.

The event will be introduced by Helena Donohoe, Chair of the LSE Lawyers’ Alumni Group.

Moderator: Enrique Bravo, member of the committee, LSE Lawyers’ Alumni Group.

A fire-side conversation with solicitor and former Chair of the LSE Alumni Association, Patrick Mears, covering his career and reflections on his time at and work with LSE over many years. Please join us after the event for a drinks reception.

LSE LLB (1979) alum, Patrick Mears, was appointed an Officer of the Order of the British Empire (OBE) for services to Preventing Abusive Tax Avoidance. He is the founding chair of the General Anti-Abuse Rule (GAAR) Advisory Panel, which provides opinions on investigations into tax abuse. Patrick had been a solicitor for 30 years with international law firm Allen & Overy LLP where he specialised in corporate tax.
Patrick is an Honorary Fellow and Emeritus Governor at the LSE.

This event is open to LSE students, staff, alumni and friends of the LSE.
