Masterclass in UK Refugee and Migration Law – Session 2

In this masterclass, Nath Gbikpi, solicitor at Leigh Day with a focus on immigration and asylum law, and Visiting Fellow at LSE Law School, discusses UK Refugee and Migration Law, debunking some of the myths around asylum which underpin the current government narrative around “safe and legal routes”.

Session 2 analyses the very few “safe and legal routes” that exist, and why they are insufficient/problematic, because only a very tiny proportion of refugees around the world will actually meet the criteria to get to the UK under those routes; and the routes are highly discriminatory both in terms of rules and their implementation.
