DESCRIPTION:While most of the attention paid to blockchain and crypto focuses on speculative trading of tokens\, retail and institutional payments may turn out to be a far larger use case. In this event\, you will hear from leading experts on the opportunities and challenges around blockchain rails for payments. Do blockchain\, stablecoins\, and other digital assets  provide a better solution for moving money\, and where are they  seeing adoption? \nKevin Werbach\, Professor of Legal Studies and Business Ethics at the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania\, will introduce the session and a Wharton student contingent visiting London to study blockchain-related developments. Nikola Plecas (Global Head of GTM & Product Commercialization at Visa Crypto) will moderate a panel discussion featuring Avishkar Sharma (Head of Partnerships for Digital Assets & Currencies at Checkout.com) and Sergio Mello (SVP Digital Assets at Volt.io). \nSpeaker Bio: \nKevin Werbach is the Liem Sioe Liong / First Pacific Company Professor and Chair of the Department of Legal Studies and Business Ethics\, and department chair at the Wharton School\, University of Pennsylvania. A world-renowned expert on emerging technologies\, he examines business and policy implications of developments such as AI and blockchain. Werbach served on the Obama Administration’s Presidential Transition Team\, helped develop the U.S. approach to internet policy in the Clinton Administration\, and currently directs the Wharton Blockchain and Digital Asset Project.
